Thank You For Calling Actor Support...

The Year: 1999
The Category: ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
The Winner: Michael Caine in "The Cider House Rules"
The Other Nominees:
Tom Cruise in "Magnolia"
Michael Clarke Duncan in "The Green Mile"
Jude Law in "The Talented Mr. Ripley"
Haley Joel Osment in "The Sixth Sense"

Robbed: Haley Joel

Okay, I love Michael Caine, and he is a great actor and he did a really good job in Cider...however, Haley out-acted them all. While I would have been happy if Tom had won, Haley really deserved it. He will get one...someday.

As for this year's pick, the Nominees are:
Alan Alda in "The Aviator"
Thomas Haden Church in "Sideways"
Jamie Foxx in "Collateral"
Morgan Freeman for "Million Dollar Baby"
Clive Owen in "Closer"

Okay, so if there is justice in this world, then Morgan will take home the prize - and he most likely will. However, I have a sinking feeling that Clive is some sort of Warlock and has cast some spell that will get him Oscar - if he does, it is a travesty and I will not stand for it. He is so plastic and fake - what he does is not what I call acting. He is the very worst...possibly ever. I know other people like him and they haven't made it in this business - so why has he? Is it the accent? I don't think Thomas will take down Morgan - just isn't possible.

Now, here is a possibility. If the Academy wants to go the sentimental route and give Clint Best Actor, then they may give Jamie Supporting Actor to make up for it...just a thought.

That's all for today...tomorrow it's BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS!
