Reanimation Nation

The Year: 2001
The Category: BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM
The Winner: "Shrek"
The Other Nominees:
"Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius"
"Monsters, Inc."

Robbed: Monsters, Inc.

This was the very first year for this category and at the very least, Pixar should have won. With Disney having the only animated movie to ever have been nominated prior to this category, it seems fitting that they should have won. They invented the animated feature film and they perfected it over the years...somehow having Shrek win, seemed off.

As for this year's pick, the Nominees are:
"The Incredibles"
"Shark Tale"
"Shrek 2"

It has to be The Incredibles. There is no other option. What else can I say, but it left the others in its dust. Shark Tale and Shrek 2 were good, but Incredibles was GREAT!

So for the menu, it is a tough year for being creative. Here is what I'm thinking:
Howard Hughes Teriyaki Wings (The Aviator)
Peter Pan-Fried Pork Chops (Finding Neverland)
88 Keys Sesame Rice (Ray)
Frankie's Boxing Rings (Million Dollar Baby)
Pinot Noir Poached Pears with Mascarpone (Sideways)

Enjoy the Oscars (if you are into that kind of thing)...and if not, watch reruns of something crappy and leave me to my fun.
